What are the Different Windows Called?
Double Hung Windows. Both the lower sash as well as the upper sash can move up and down and usually tilt out for easy cleaning and maintenance, though a double-hung window is similar to a single hung window. While a double hung wood window would be a more expensive option, double–hung vinyl window are also available. They are one of the most common replacement windows that homeowners install.
Bay Windows. A small shelf in the home is created as bay windows protrude from an exterior wall. Since it is a larger window that requires a skilled installer, a bay window costs more to install. From which two side windows are angled at 30 to 40 degrees, this usually consists of a center window.
Casement Windows. To the side or up to open, casement windows swing. It offers a less obstructed view overall and allows the window to be constructed of solid glass. These windows usually come with one casement windowpane on the left and one on the right.
Garden Windows. Essentially mini bay windows that are meant for plants, garden windows, because they act like tiny little greenhouses that protrude from the inside of your home, they have earned their name.
Picture Windows. The best way to fully enjoy your view is with beautiful large picture windows, whether the view outside your home is a lush green backyard or a mountain range. Being fixed windows that cannot be opened, picture windows are large window types that do not have any breaks or visible frames allowing for an unobstructed beautiful view.

The design possibilities for your window project are nearly endless with design shapes like half circles, arches, ovals, circles, trapezoids, triangles and virtually any other shape you can imagine.
