It’s a great way to bring the outdoors inside. No matter how many benefits there are to having glass doors, when those glass doors are having issues, it can be frustrating. There are a few things that can go wrong and cause problems with your glass doors. M & M Glass is here to talk about some of the reasons you may be in need of glass door repair.

How Do I Make My Sliding Glass Door Slide Easier?

The way that sliding glass doors work is that they have rollers on either side of the doors that slide along a track. If these rollers aren’t working well, the door can’t open and close with ease. You will usually know there is an issue because the door will jam and get stuck. If you have metal rollers, they can start to rust and wear our quicker. However, if you have rollers that are cracked or otherwise broken, you will surely need repairs to get the door working again.

Misaligned Glass Door

Back to the rollers, if they aren’t on the track, the door won’t be on the track as well. When the rollers and doors are misaligned, there will be nowhere for the door to go. It will simply be stuck and won’t move either way. The reason this happens in the first place is the screws that hold the rollers to the door an become loose and even fall out completely which leaves the door misaligned and unusable.

Bent Sliding Glass Door Track?

No matter how hard you try, if the track on your sliding glass door is bent, it will not be useable. While this may seem unlikely to happen, it happens more often than you would think. If you find that the track on your sliding door is bent, you can attempt to straighten it with a mallet or hammer, but you will likely end up damaging the door. You are far better off leaving it up to professionals to fix bent tracks.

Broken Glass in Sliding Door

Obviously, if you have a glass door that has sustained damage and left the glass broken, you will need glass replacement. Broken or damaged glass doesn’t just mean a crack either. You may have glass that is starting to look cloudy or even simply have chips in it. Sometimes, you may be dealing with glass that is completely broken and in need of replacement.
